Luxembourg prime minister headed for election win
Preliminary results in Luxembourg's national elections show that Christian Democrat Jean-Claude Juncker will likely remain prime minister.
His party is expected to collect about 39 percent of Sunday's vote, up from 36, while its socialist coalition party is to remain the second party of the Grand Duchy with some 19 percent, down from 23.
Juncker is already the longest-serving prime minister in the European Union and he is expected to continue to preside over the group of 16 nations using the euro currency.
Juncker's good showing came despite the economic crisis which is expected to send unemployment soaring to some 6 percent next year.
